3-year-old fatally struck by vehicle driven by his mother in west Houston, police say

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A child has died after being struck by a vehicle driven by their mother in west Houston, police say.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 10881 Richmond Avenue.

According to police, the driver was looking forward and talking to people in front of her vehicle. People behind her moved, but her 3-year-old child didn't. As she was backing up, the child ran behind her car. 

It is unclear if charges will be filed against the mom.
