CPSC issues recall for 250,000 mini-fridges due to short circuit risk that poses fire and burn hazards

The Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for 250,000 Cooluli mini fridges because the electrical switch can short circuit, posing fire and burn hazards. 

What we know:

CPSC says the recall is for the 10-Liter and 15-Liter Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe Series with an internal power supply and two power input ports (AC and DC) on the back of the mini-fridge, instead of a single DC port and were sold in several colors including black, blue, green, white and red or with multicolored patterns, photos and logos. 

The recall includes batch numbers 1535 through 1545 and 1200000 through 1202080 and can be found on the printed label on the inside of the door. 

Why you should care:

The manufacturer, Ningbo Iceberg Electronic Appliance Co., Ltd., of China, says they have received at least 19 reports of the mini fridges smoking, sparking, burning, melting, overheating or catching fire, resulting in property damages totaling more than $80,000, with one person reporting a smoke inhalation injury. 

What you can do:

Consumers should stop using the recalled mini fridges immediately and contact Cooluli for a free replacement power cord by visiting Cooluli.com  to enter the model and batch numbers to determine whether their mini fridge is included in the recall. 

Consumers who have recalled mini fridges will be instructed to unplug the mini fridge, cut the power cord and submit photos to Cooluli showing the model and batch numbers of the fridge. Cooluli will then provide a replacement DC power cord and permanent sticker to cover the AC port.
