She survived a bottle of pills, a garage full of fumes, and even a fire, and now 14-year-old Allison Clark is talking about her ordeal.

She survived a suicide pact she made with her mother.  It was the ultimate betrayal by the person who was supposed to be her protector.

"You can't really trust everyone, " said Allison Clark. "You know she tried to kill me."

Allison's mother Nancy Lowe just accepted a plea deal in court.  Lowe was offered two years in prison and five years of probation by the Hillsborough State Attorney's Office for trying to kill Allison.

"My mom picked me up from school that day and said we got to do this, kill ourselves, " said Clark.

At the time Allison was 12-years-old and caught in the middle of a nasty custody battle between her parents.  When a judge ruled Allison was to spend time with her father that day, her mother had different plans.

"I just didn't know what's going to happen, I didn't want her to be mad at me," Clark told FOX 13.

So Allison and her mother wrote suicide notes. "I was nervous. I think I was crying.  At the moment, I was just sad, " said Clark.  Things quickly turned dark and grim when her mother handed her pills.

"Valium I believe it was, a lot, probably 20 or 30 pills," Clark said. "I'm surprised I'm not dead from those alone."

The plan, she says, was to die of carbon monoxide poisoning.  With the car engine on, they sat in the car in the garage, as it filled with toxic fumes.

Allison says, the whole time her mother was still convincing her it was the right thing to do.

"I know she said we would go to heaven together and it won't hurt. We will fall asleep, " Clark told FOX 13.

At one point, Allison says her mother grew impatient and told her it wasn't working fast enough and she was going to start a fire.

Neighbors saw the smoke and rescued them both from the burning garage.

"I couldn't breathe. I wanted to get out. I didn't want to die that way," said Clark.

She still has the physical scars of that day, but she says the mental scars are slowly healing.

"I'm not angry at her for anything," Clark said.

Allison now lives with her father and considers herself a survivor, and not a victim

She says she misses having her mother around ,like any young girl would.

On Monday Nancy Lowe pleaded guilty to attempted second degree murder.  She will be sentenced next Monday according to the plea deal she accepted.
