Fertitta making Big 12 case for University of Houston

No one is more passionate about University of Houston academics and athletics than Tilman Fertitta, chairman of the board of regents at UH. The Houston-based business giant, who owns Landry's Inc. and Golden Nugget Casinos, knows exactly what he would say if given the opportunity to speak to Big 12 presidents who will meet in two weeks and discuss expansion.

"I would tell them, 'How in the world can you keep the University of Houston out?'," explains Fertitta during an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

Fertitta believes an invitation to the Big 12 for UH should be automatic.

Other schools speculated as targets for Big 12 expansion include Connecticut, Memphis, Cincinnati, BYU and Central Florida.
