The Atlanta Braves, along with Make-A-Wish Georgia, helped make a metro Atlanta boy’s dream come true, just one year after learning he was cancer free.

In 2014, Connor was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer called Wilms’ Tumor. Doctors discovered the cancer after the tumor exploded one day as Connor was playing baseball. He immediately had his kidney removed and underwent radiation, which was followed by six months of chemotherapy.

Connor missed field day at his school last year because of his treatments, but that wasn’t the case this year.

The 9-year-old fighter not only attended Pickett Mill Elementary School’s field day on Thursday, but received a visit from some very special guests.

Several members of the Atlanta Braves, including Homer and the Tomahawk Team, surprised Connor at his Acworth school and invited him to the game later that evening.

Connor accepted the invitation, of course!

Once field day was over, the FOX Sports Fan Express bus picked Connor and his family up and took them to Turner Field.

Braves third basemen Gordon Beckham took Connor on a tour of the Clubhouse and center fielder Mallex Smith showed him the bullpen. He also met other Braves players and even got to hang out with manager Fredi Gonzalez.

Connor was then joined by his family and friends to watch the game and cheer on the Bravos as they took on the Phillies. He also got to participate in several activities during the game including.

The Braves may have lost, but Connor walked away a big winner!
