Woman confessed to police that she killed boyfriend

Authorities say a 20-year-old woman has been charged with murder after going to the College Station police department and confessing to fatally shooting her boyfriend.

After the confession Sunday, authorities went to a property near the small town of Iola where Kelsie Lee Fowler-Rodriguez of College Station said she and her boyfriend had gone to target shoot. That's where authorities found 22-year-old Bryan resident Francisco Silva, who police said had been shot once in the head.

Grimes County sheriff's office investigator Kindale Pittman says they're still trying to determine a motive.

Documents state Fowler-Rodriguez also confessed to killing her dog. Pittman said the dog was found dead with "bodily injury."

Fowler-Rodriguez remained in Grimes County Jail on Tuesday on $750,000 bond. Jail records didn't list an attorney for her.
