Reggie McFadden, 'In Living Color' and 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' comedian, dies at 57: report

Reggie McFadden, the actor and comedian known for his work in Fox’s "In Living Color" and sitcom "Curb Your Enthusiasm" has died at 57, according to the Hollywood Reporter. 

What we know:

McFadden’s sister, author Bernice McFadden, told the outlet that the U.S. State Department notified the family that he had died in Tanzania. The actor had been living there, working as the owner of a gold-mining and entertainment production company.

The backstory:

Born in Brooklyn in November 1968, McFadden got his big break in stand-up for HBO’s "Def Comedy Jam" after leaning into comedy as a way to escape living in the projects , according to his online bio. 

Big picture view:

After his performance in the stand-up special, he moved to Los Angeles and found a string of acting roles in several with small parts in "Martin," "Hanging With Mr. Cooper," "Moesha" and "Coach."

In the last season of Fox’s sketch comedy "In Living Color", McFadden appeared in 23 episodes doing such sketches as "Wheel of Dozens," "Dirty Dozens Tournament of Champions" and "All Up in the Family."

In 2001, he appeared in one episode as "Larry David’s neighbor in HBO’s "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

He leaves behind his sister Bernice, another sister, Misty, two sons, a mother and a brother.
