A day after Dalton High School social studies teacher Jesse Randal Davidson barricaded himself in a classroom and fired a handgun, FOX 5 News got a look inside the classroom.

Davidson remained behind bars Thursday on multiple charges stemming from the scare which forced students to evacuate. He was supposed to make his first court appearance Thursday afternoon, but it never happened.

Frantic 911 calls from Dalton High School flooded into police late Wednesday morning. They came after Dalton Police said Davidson barricaded himself in his classroom room 413 and fired off a single round from a gun he brought to school.

Inside the classroom, the window where the bullet went through is now boarded up. Davidson's classwork remains on the board.

Brian Rosenbluh's daughter is one of Davidson's students.

“She and her friends said he was nice guy, fun teacher. He may have said odd things... But never led them to believe he was a danger to himself or others,” said Rosenbluh.

Dalton Police said Davidson is no stranger to them.

According to a 2016 incident report obtained by FOX 5 News, police described him as possibly being "delusional." The report states the 53-year-old man went to police confessing to having killed his adopted son's girlfriend with whom he said he had been having an internet affair. Investigator were not able to verify this.

Just last year, police found him sitting on the side of the road unresponsive.

Rosenbluh said this most recent incident floored him.

“He was against having guns in school. He was actually a teacher organizing students here to keep teachers from having guns,” said Rosenbluh.
