The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is reviewing their own policies after the body of a missing Charlotte man buried under his own home was not found for three months.

Investigators first visited the home in May after someone reported Richard Hable missing from his Bondhaven Road home. An investigation found nothing suspicious, according to Deputy Chief Doug Gallant. That same person called in August to say they suspected foul play was connected to Hable's disappearance.

Hable was found Thursday buried under his home. Neighbors said the burial site was covered by a concrete slab. A neighbor took Fox 46 News into his own yard, where you can see the hole investigators dug under Hable's home.

"And nobody noticed. I mean not only me, but any of our neighbors. Nobody seen anything, heard anything," Kenneth Wright told Fox 46 News. "We didn't even smell anything until they started digging the hole up."

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department believes Hable has bee dead since at least May. They are reviewing their initial response to see if more could have been done.

A $5,000 dollar reward is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-432-TIPS.
