Man fatally shot at home in north Houston; suspect in custody
The Houston Police Department investigates a deadly shooting on Green Meadow.
HOUSTON - Police say a suspect was taken into custody after a man was fatally shot in a home in north Houston.
Officers responded to the shooting call in the 900 block of Green Meadow Lane around 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, when officers arrived, the suspect was still in the house. Officers were able to talk the suspect into coming out of the house.
Police say the suspect dropped the weapon outside and was taken into custody without further incident.
Officers entered the house and found a man, in his 50s, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is unclear exactly what led up to the shooting, but police say there was an altercation between the two men. Authorities say they knew each other.
Homicide investigators responded to the scene. They were speaking with witnesses who were inside the house.
