On Saturday afternoon, friends and family of the woman who lost her life decided to stop by the family's home and pay their respects.

"It's a very sad situation and it's a very hard pill for me to swallow," says family friend José Aguilar. He has only known the Leo family for around a year, but when Rafael Leos started working together with him, they quickly became best friends. That was a reason why on Saturday afternoon he had to stop by the Leo family home.

"I came, you know, with the false expectation that I would ring the doorbell and that my friend would answer the door and his wife would be home and his dogs would be there, but you know that's not the case," says Aguilar. He is still in shock about what happened.

Just after midnight on Saturday, Montgomery County Precinct 3 deputy constables and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received a call from a man that lived in the 2300 block of Kylie Court who said that he had accidentally shot his wife. After investigating the scene, deputies arrested Rafael Leos, 32, who was charged with murder. His wife who was killed has been identified as 28-year-old Jessica Leos.

"You know, it's really sad and I just want to say my prayers out to the family and friends or anyone that's affected by it, it's just awful," says Randi Kalich, a neighbor of the Leos family.

"It's a tragic situation," adds Aguilar. "I feel that through the course of the last 24 hours, two lives were lost and they were beautiful...you know Rafael was and he is my best friend."

Regardless of what has happened, Aguilar says he will be praying for the Leos family.

"I have nothing but good things to say about the both of them and it's a very sad day," says Aguilar.

The couple's daughter was home at the time of the shooting but did not witness the incident.
