Houston shooting: 16-year-old found dead inside vehicle near Gulf Bank Road
HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating the death of a 16-year-old female found shot in a vehicle by officers in north Houston.

What we know:
Lieutenant J.P. Horelica reports officers were called to a shooting in progress near 1125 Gulf Bank Road around 3 a.m.
When police got to the scene, they found a vehicle on the road with a 16-year-old in the front passenger seat suffering from a gunshot wound.

Houston Fire Department units were called to the scene and pronounced the juvenile dead on scene.
Lt. Horelica says three young adult men were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. However, two of the males stayed on scene and one left before officers arrived.

What we don't know:
Investigators have not determined how the shooting occurred.
