Galveston officer charged with two counts of indecency with a child

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A Galveston officer has been charged with two counts of indecency with a child, including sexual contact. 

Officer Dion Watson was arrested today. A complaint came in last month and police started investigating. They have asked the Galveston County Sheriff's Office to take over the case.

Court documents show that he began abusing a 13-year-old female in 2015, as well as offering her payment for nude photos. She chose not to report him, expressing doubt that authorities would believe her since he was a police officer. 

Watson joined the Galveston Police in 2001. He is on paid administrative leave while the case is investigated.
