Family seeks justice after patriarch killed in parking lot stabbing

The widow of a man who was stabbed in broad daylight in north Houston says she wants the man who killed her husband to surrender.

Jose Hernandez was placing his one-year-old son inside the car when a man came out of nowhere on Sunday and stabbed him in the parking lot outside of his home.

A family friend says Jose was just trying to go to the grocery store on Sunday morning when a man came out of nowhere and used a knife to stab him.

A short time later, he was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. His widow says doctors told her that Jose bled to death. Houston police have not made any arrests but describe the stabbing suspect as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25.

Crime Stoppers of Houston has released a photo of the suspect and is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone that can provide information that may lead to his arrest.

Jose's widow must now find a way to pay for her his funeral and determine how to raise these children all by herself.
