The Army Corps of Engineers is getting nearly $40 million to repair beach erosion and damage to Georgia's coast.

Congress approved supplemental funding including $13 million to renourish the beaches of Tybee Island.

Another 26-million is expected to pay for repairing dikes in the Savannah Harbor.

Officials said the damage to the beach was caused by Hurricane Matthew and Hurricane Irma in 2016 and 2017.
