SB 2880 would also create civil liability for any Texas aiding women crossing our borders to seek the abortion-inducing drugs in states where it's still legal.

Sponsored by Houston Republican Paul Bettencourt, the statewide prohibition was triggered by Harris County's failed attempt at randomly selecting around 2,000 low income households to receive 18 months of no strings attached stipends totaling $9,000; a proposal ultimately blocked by the Texas Supreme Court.
