What we know:
The pipeline fire erupted in the area of Highway 90 near CR 270, between East Bernard and Lissie, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wharton County Sheriff's Office said Kinder Morgan would close the valve that feeds the gas line, and the fire would burn out as pressure subsided.
Shortly after 2 p.m., the Wharton County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office said the fire was out, and fire units were returning to service.
