HOUSTON - A number of school districts will be closed due to inclement weather to start the week.
Snow and sleet started to make its way into the Houston area around noon on Sunday.

A winter storm continues to unfold across the state of Texas with southeast Texas finding itself on the dividing line between a cold rain and accumulating snowfall. Today will be quite gloomy with temperatures basically holding steady, if not dropping, throughout the day. Rain will transition to all snow well north of Houston and could even mix over to all snow in northern portions of Harris county before the system wraps up by Monday morning. If you live south of I-10, the event will remain all rain, but the snow will not be too far away. Highest accumulations in the area look to be from Grimes to Walker to Trinity counties were 2-4

The following schools will be closed or delayed due to weather conditions:
Brenham ISD
Due to inclement weather, Brenham ISD will delay the start of school until 10 a.m. on January 11, 2021. Buses will run their regular routes approximately 2 hours later than their regularly scheduled time. COVID-19 testing will be cancelled Monday.
Conroe ISD
Due to potentially hazardous road conditions during morning arrival times and anticipated staffing shortages, Conroe ISD will be closed on Monday, January 11, 2021. In-Person and Remote/Online Instruction will resume on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Goodrich ISD
Please note that out of an abundance of caution due to wintry weather and hazardous road conditions, Goodrich ISD schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 11, 2021. School will resume on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Huntsville ISD
HISD School Cancelled - TOMORROW, Monday, Jan 11. Huntsville ISD has decided to CANCEL school for TOMORROW due to inclement weather expected for our district.
Lone Star College
Lone Star College will delay the opening of all facilities until 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 11 due to the Winter Weather Advisory issued by the National Weather Service. All LSC Online classes will continue as scheduled. LSC Employees scheduled to work from home will also keep their regular schedule.
Montgomery ISD
All Montgomery ISD schools and offices to be closed on Monday, January 11 due to inclement weather in the region. Students will not be expected to participate in remote learning on Monday. Schools and district offices will resume normal operations on Tuesday, January 12.
Sam Houston State University
All Sam Houston State University campuses will be closed due to inclement weather. All offices will be closed. Food services will be available for students. The SHSU Charter School will operate remotely. All campuses will reopen on Tuesday, January 12. Monitor KatSafe for more information.

Shepherd ISD will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 11, 2021 due to inclement weather.
