HOUSTON (FOX 26) — April is a time to support survivors of sexual assault and bring awareness to the crime.

What can supporters do to help survivors of sexual assault? They can do the following:

  1. Listen without judgement
  2. Believe a survivor's story
  3. Share resources

Anyone in need of help related to sexual assault can contact a free and confidential hotline at 713-528-7273 (RAPE), which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information and resources, visit https://hawc.org/.

The Believe Luncheon will take place on Thursday, April 18 fro 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Royal Sonesta Houston on 2222 West Loop South Freeway. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, who convicted Larry Nassar for the sexually abuse of U.S. gymnasts under his care, will serve as the guest speaker for the event.
