Texans lose Ben Jones, retain Chris Clark

The Texans retain offensive tackle Chris Clark, while NFL sources confirmed center Ben Jones is headed to the Titans.

Sources confirmed Jones will sign a four-year contract.

Jones, who began his Texans career playing left and right guard, became the team’s starter at center in 2014 after the departure of longtime center Chris Myers.

Jones was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

He started 10 games as a rookie at right guard.

In four years with the Texans Jones (6-3,308)  has played in 64 games starting 43.

Jones started every game at center the past two years.

Meanwhile, by reaching a contract agreement with Clark the Texans keep an offensive lineman who adds important depth.

Acquired in a trade with the Denver Broncos in August, Clark started two games at left tackle and two games at right tackle because of injuries.

Clark, who is headed into his seventh NFL season, joins starters Duane Brown and Derek Newton as Texans offensive tackles.

Also, NFL sources told FOX 26 Sports the Texans re-signed safety Eddie Pleasant to a two-year contract.

Pleasant has been with the Texans since 2012, playing in 64 games, starting one.

He had his first two career interceptions in 2015
