Houston ISD teacher accused of inappropriately touching student

Houston ISD announced allegations of inappropriate behavior have been made against a teacher at Northline Elementary School. According to the district, the teacher has been reassigned off campus while they conduct a thorough investigation.

It's hard to say any one thing is a parent's worst nightmare, but this kind of thing is on any parent's top 10 list. So much so, that this parent who didn't want to be identified dropped everything and rushed to the campus.

"I'm nervous. I haven't even talked to my kids and that's what I'm about to do," she said. "Go talk to my kids, find out what's going on, see what they know, let them know that things happen and what they should do."

It's hard to say what they should do when you yourself don't know what happened. In fact, none of the parents seemed to.

"Well yeah, I'm worried. It's a school," said Jennifer Cuello.

"Yes I was very surprised. I don't know what was going on," added Reyna Flores.

So what was going on? The message that went out from the school gave some details, but not many. It only stated that a teacher had been accused of inappropriate conduct.

It stated in part that "the teacher has been removed from the campus and reassigned to a non teaching role pending the outcome of the investigation."

According to the principal HISD personnel office, the HISD police department and CPS are all investigating.

“The safety of our students is of the utmost importance and we fully support the investigation,” HISD said in a statement.

In the meantime, parents are left wondering what happened, who the teacher was, and what to tell their children.

"I don't know. I haven't even thought about it. It hasn't really kicked in," said the first parent.
