HOUSTON - As the high temperatures continue across the Houston area, you may be looking for a place to escape the heat.
Air-conditioned cooling centers are opening up for residents to get some relief.
HOUSTON
People can seek air-conditioning in city multi-service centers, libraries, and recreation centers during normal business hours.
To find the nearest cooling center location or an air-conditioned city facility, people can call 3-1-1 for more information.

HARRIS COUNTY PRECINCT 2
Harris County Pct. 2 operates 10 cooling centers during the summer months. The centers are open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

SALVATION ARMY - GALVESTON
The Salvation Army’s cooling station at 601 51st Street is open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20 in response to a Heat Advisory from the local weather service. The cooling station is open in the dining hall for anyone who needs to come in out of the heat.
