HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A Harris County deputy and a firefighter were taken to the hospital following a crash with an 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon.
Harris County deputy injured in crash
Officials said the crash occurred on Aldine Bender near the intersection of West Hardy Toll Road.

Authorities said an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on West Hardy and a fire truck, which was traveling westbound on Aldine Bender, with its lights and sirens on.
As they entered the intersection, the 18-wheeler and the fire truck collided.
Following the collision, officials said they struck a minivan and a patrol Explorer that was parked in the eastbound lanes waiting to make a left turn.
Both the Harris County deputy and the firefighter had non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials said they are still investigating all the factors that led to the crash.
