One man was taken to the hospital after walking into an American Legion Hall allegedly wielding a stick, officials said.

What we know:

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says deputies responded to the American Legion Hall at 14890 Crosby-Lynchburg Road in Crosby. 

Preliminary information is that a man entered the location wielding a stick and approached another man. 

Officials said the man retrieved a pistol and shot the man holding the stick. 

The wounded man was taken to the hospital. 

What we don't know:

Officials didn't say what hospital the wounded man was taken to, nor did they release his current condition. 

It's unclear why the man walked into the location.
