Body found in Second Baptist Church West Campus parking lot

HOUSTON (FOX 26) — Deputies arrived to the Second Baptist Church West Campus parking lot on the Katy Freeway frontage road near Greenhouse Road in west Harris County on Monday afternoon where the body of a male was found.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirms the male's body was found in front of a truck with a gun next to him. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on Twitter that the investigation is ongoing but that the death was "likely a result of self-inflicted gunshot wound."

No classes or services were taking place at the church.
