Tropical Weather Update — September 20, 2025
The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Gabrielle, located over the central subtropical Atlantic. Gabrielle should become a hurricane within the next 24 hours. A tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. While development is unlikely during the next couple of days, environmental conditions should gradually become more favorable for development of this disturbance by the middle to latter part of next week.
Besides Gabrielle, we are watching a tropical wave off the coast of Africa. Right now, the National Hurricane Center gives this a 20% chance of development over the next 7 days.
