Houston weekend weather: Timeline for rain chances starting Saturday
A few showers will pop up Saturday evening. Scattered showers will begin overnight and through Sunday morning before heavy rain bands arrive midday into the evening.
HOUSTON - Houston and Southeast Texas will be trading out their winter boots for rain boots this weekend. Overcast and dreary skies move in Saturday with rainy weather returning on Sunday.
Saturday
Southeast Texas can expect an increase in clouds on Saturday. Highs will reach the low-60s for most. Saturday evening a few showers will pop up, mainly starting west and moving east across the viewing area.
Overnight lows will be significantly warmer in the 50s.
Soggy Sunday
Scattered showers will begin overnight and through Sunday morning before heavy rain bands arrive midday into the evening. Training storms are likely with the possibility of street flooding.
Southeast Texas could see about an inch of rain accumulation and limited areas could see 2-3" in total. The Weather Prediction Center has placed our entire viewing area in a 1/4 risk for street flooding. Always remember, turn around when you see a flooded roadway.
Wet & Warm Week for Houston
You will be trading out your winter coats for rain jackets this week. Temperatures will be back to the 60s with on and off rain chances for most of this upcoming week. The latest models are hinting at another round of heavy rain during the Wednesday to Friday timespan.
