Officers arrived and found a 21-year-old man unresponsive in a driveway. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other people – a 35-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man and a 41-year-old man – were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds. Police said their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
According to police, one of the injured men said there had been a verbal altercation between himself and his neighbor – the man who died.
Police say the neighbor reportedly went to his vehicle, got a weapon, and started firing shots at the other man and his family. Fearing for his life and the safety of his family, the man then returned fire, fatally striking his neighbor, police say.
The case will be referred to a grand jury.
