The investigation
Dig deeper:
In April 2025, investigators learned a woman had been falsely presenting herself as a medical professional or registered nurse, according to Montgomery County officials. She is accused of illegally performing Botox and lip fillers without medical supervision.
According to court records, the Food and Drug Administration began investigating King in 2022.
Records say she was operating a practice under the name "Pretty Pout Med Spa" shown as "Pretty Pout Aesthetics" on a Facebook account linked to the investigation. Documents say she was performing Botox and derma filler lip injections without the appropriate licensure, but advertised that she was a nurse practitioner practicing under a medical supervisor.

King was using non-FDA-approved products she acquired from Canada, according to records.
In Nov. 2023, a federal agent texted a number used by "Pretty Pout," warning the sender to stop ordering foreign Botox/fillers/Semaglutide and to stop dispensing/injecting, according to records. They say the investigator set up an interview with King that never happened.
In 2024, Kendall Pounds Mayes says she was one of the people to send a tip to the medical board. She says she knows King personally and took action when she heard she was practicing medicine.
"She has no license, nothing, it's wrong," she said.

The victims
The Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) and VICE units reportedly identified two victims who suffered harm as a result of the procedures.
Documents say one victim received fillers in 2023 and had a severe reaction. They say she reported severe swelling, burning, and tightness.
Carissa Wegenast says that the victim is her friend. "I saw her probably a week or so later. I was like, Oh my gosh, what happened to you? It looked like she was beaten up," she said. She says her friend's lips were five to six times their normal size, and she also had bruising under her eyes.
Another victim got lip/cheek fillers and Botox in May and June 2025, saying after lidocaine numbing, she began salivating so severely she felt like she was drowning, according to records.
What we don't know:
At this time, it is unknown how many other possible victims there might be.
