Two toddlers have died following a drowning that occurred in Katy on Wednesday. FOX 26's McKenna Earnhart. 

Two toddlers have died after they were flown to a hospital when a family member found them drowning at their Katy home on Wednesday, according to Harris County authorities.

What we know:

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says two baby girls drowned at a home on Creek Edge Court, near Morton and Mason Roads, close to Grand Parkway.

Authorities at the scene said calls started coming in at about 11:30 a.m. Deputies came to the home and found paramedics performing life-saving measures on the girls.

Both were taken to a hospital via LifeFlight where they were pronounced dead, authorities said.

Toddlers drown at Katy home | Full press conference

Two toddlers were hospitalized after their family found them drowning in a pool at their Katy home. Harris County authorities provided information at the scene.

The two and three-year-old girls reportedly live at the home with their mother and grandparents. Their grandmother had just come home from running errands and found the girls in the pool.

The grandmother screamed, prompting the toddlers' mother, the grandfather, and two neighbors to come rescue the girls.
