HOUSTON - Eight people were injured after a car crashed into the Fiesta Mart in the Sunnyside area on Saturday, Jan. 30 around 3 p.m.
Houston Police says the crash took place at the 9400 block of Cullen Boulevard in Houston.
According to Houston Police, a gold SUV accelerated through the front doors of the grocery store.
Eight people inside of the store had injuries from the crash, either from the vehicle or debris.
The youngest victim was a 9-year-old child, and the most significant injury was an adult in their mid-thirties with a significant head injury.
The driver is in custody and it is expected that he was under the influence behind the wheel.
Thankfully everyone injured is expected to make a full recovery.
