What we know:

The incident happened at the Northline Transit Center along Fulton Street near East Crosstimbers Street. Houston authorities responded to a shooting call at the station at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

HPD Lieutenant Larry Crowson said some Harris County deputies were working extra jobs at the station.

Before the shooting, Lt. Crowson said a witness told deputies about a man who was exposing himself on one of the trains. Deputies went to interview and arrest the man in question when a fight broke out.

Officials say two deputies shot the suspect, and one of those two deputies suffered a cut to his hand.

The suspect was taken to a hospital, but was later pronounced deceased.

The stabbed deputy was sent to a different hospital. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says the deputy is in good spirits and will be released later on Wednesday night.
