Houston METRO is reopening its transportation services on a delayed schedule Monday due to the wintry weather.

Houston METRO: Delayed Monday reopenings

Big picture view:

  • 9 a.m. – HOV/HOT lanes reopen
  • 11 a.m. – METROLift, curb2curb and Community Connector service begins
  • 12 p.m. – Local bus service is planned to resume in full
  • 12 p.m. – 500 Downtown Direct begins service as conditions allow

Park & Ride service will not operate on Monday.

While HOV lanes are reopening at 9 a.m. Monday, drivers are still being asked to stay cautious. The 500 Downtown Direct is expected to start service at noon, but it'll depend on roadway conditions.

METRORail will run on a weekend service schedule.

Bus services are aimed to fully resume as normal by noon, but it'll depend on when each route is considered safe. Riders should still expect delays.

METROLift services will fully reopen, but operators will prioritize transportation to medical facilities and warming centers. 

What we don't know:

Service changes have not been announced yet for Tuesday. METRO will make an announcement depending on weather conditions.

What you can do:

Riders are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
