20 Houston families displaced after apartment fire

At least 20 families have been displaced following a 3-alarm fire in southwest Houston on Wednesday evening. According to the Houston Fire Department, a 911 call was received for a call on Skyline, near Hillcroft.

According to the Houston Fire Department, a 911 call was received for a call on Skyline, near Hillcroft, and the first units arrived within five minutes. 

Due to the fire being upgraded to a three-alarm fire, 100 firefighters responded to the scene.

Firefighters battle 3-alarm apartment fire in West Houston

Houston firefighters provide update following a 3-alarm fire in West Houston on Wednesday night.

Fire officials said they are now working to provide and care for those displaced by the fire. 

The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast region reports they are helping more than 65 people recover. Volunteers from the Houston chapter met with families and began assisting them with their immediate needs.

If anyone was impacted by the fire and needs assistance, they are asked to contact 1-800-RED-CROSS (733-2767).

There were no reports of any injuries to firefighters or residents. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
