HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the death of a homeless man who was attacked in front of a Houston store and later died at the hospital.
Officials said the incident occurred in the 10800 block of South Post Oak just after 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
When officers arrived, they said they found a 56-year-old man unresponsive with injuries.
Officials said a homeless man was walking in front of the store when he was approached by someone who knocked him to the ground.
The attacker arrived at the scene in a silver sedan, Houston PD later said. They believe the attack was targeted, and there is no threat to the public.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

An investigation is underway after a homeless man was attacked outside a Houston-area store and later died at the hospital. FOX 26 Reporter Sherman Desselle has the latest.
Authorities said further investigation identified the suspect as 33-year-old Mannly Dolphus.
Dolphus has been charged with aggravated assault, serious bodily injury.

Officials said additional charges are pending as the victim's cause of death has yet to be determined by autopsy.
