When they arrived at the scene, deputies found a maroon four-door Buick sedan in a ditch and the two men shot to death along the roadway.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 19-year-old man returned to the scene with his father a short time later.

The teen reportedly told investigators that he was parked near his home when a black Chevrolet Cruze pulled up behind him.

The sheriff’s office says two men exited their car and reportedly attempted to rob him at gunpoint.

According to deputies, the teen shot both of the suspects and then fled the scene in the men’s car because his car was disabled in the ditch.

The sheriff’s office says the teen disposed of his pistol, parked the car behind a gas station and then called his father for a ride. He later returned to the scene.

The sheriff’s office says his statement appears to be consistent with surveillance video collected from the surrounding area.

The shooting will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury when the investigation is completed.
