HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Authorities are investigating following a deadly shooting in northwest Harris County on Wednesday evening.
Harris County shooting: Deadly shooting under investigation on Regency Green Drive
What we know:
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Regency Green Drive, near Regency Wood Drive.
Officials said a 911 caller reported he shot a man who was fighting him.
Deputies arrived within minutes, safely detained the shooter and secured the weapon.
Authorities said deputies attempted life-saving measures. However, the man, who is said to be 18-years-old, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Further investigation determined a third person, who was detained by deputies, reported that both the shooter and the victim were inside his apartment.
At one point in time, officials said they ended up in the parking lot where a fight occurred, which led to the shooting.
Officials said the shooter remained on the scene.

Officials did not provide any information on the suspect or victim's identity.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are actively doing the follow-up investigation, so they're going to be canvassing for video, interviewing witnesses, and gathering evidence.
