The sheriff’s office is investigating after a man was shot to death at a massage parlor in north Harris County, officials say.
The shooting was reported around 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 17000 block of Nanes Drive.
According to deputies, the shooter, a man who was working on some repairs, remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
The sheriff’s office says the worker reported that he was conducting the repairs when a man either entered through the unlocked door that's normally locked or actually made entry, and the worker asked him to leave.
A confrontation reportedly ensued. The worker told deputies that the man made threatening remarks, and at that point, the worker took out his handgun and ordered the man to leave, the sheriff’s office says.
According to the sheriff’s office, the worker said that the other man charged at him, so he fired his gun multiple times.
The man was shot at least once and died at the scene from his injuries.
The investigation into what happened is still ongoing. Once the investigation is complete, the sheriff’s office says they will consult with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine the next steps in the case.
