Father, son stabbed at home in northwest Harris County

The Harris County Sheriff's Office investigates a stabbing at a home on Sterlingstone Drive.

The sheriff’s office says a father and son were stabbed by a contractor who showed up at their northwest Harris County home demanding money.

The stabbing was reported around 7:20 a.m. Thursday in the 12400 block of Sterlingstone Drive.

The contractor was reportedly there about a week before doing some painting at the house and was paid, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities say he showed up on Thursday morning and knocked on the door demanding money.

The sheriff’s office says the father answered the door, and the man knocked him to the ground and stabbed him. The son came to his father’s aid and was also stabbed, authorities say.

The man allegedly took some items from the home before fleeing the scene.

The father was stabbed in the chest and was last reported to be in stable condition. The son was reportedly stabbed in the head and is said to be in critical but stable condition.
