HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A young boy is in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while riding an electric bike late Thursday night.
Kid hit by vehicle riding electric dirt bike
What we know:
Harris County Constable Precinct 4 reported deputies were called to an auto-pedestrian crash on Pinto Point Drive just west of The Woodlands.
Investigators say a 9-year-old boy was riding an electric dirt bike when he was hit by a vehicle. The child was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and last reported to be in stable condition.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
What we don't know:
Officials have not reported the circumstances behind the crash.

The backstory:
On Wednesday, a 14-year-old was riding an electric scooter in Klein on Theiss Mail Route Road when they were hit by a vehicle. The teen was taken by EMS to a local hospital. Their condition has not been reported.
On Aug. 18, a 10-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after being hit while riding an electric scooter. Preliminary investigation indicated the 10-year-old girl riding an electric scooter entered the intersection after failing to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a motor vehicle.
Earlier this month, Harris County medical experts and first responders warned parents about a sharp increase in injuries involving e-bikes, e-scooters and electric motorcycles.
