A new three-block green space near downtown Houston's Criminal Justice Center is transforming a dark chapter of local history into a beautiful path of remembrance and economic growth. Spearheaded by Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis since 2018, Remembrance Park is nearing completion and will pay tribute to four Black Americans who were lynched in Houston after the Emancipation Proclamation.
