Officer Daniel Flores secretly recorded his colleagues and turned over roughly 90 tapes to his superiors, hoping it would lead to internal discipline. Instead of being treated as a whistleblower, Los Angeles County prosecutors charged Flores with felony eavesdropping for violating the state's invasion of privacy act.
