Barnes & Noble pulling controversial collection of books after social media backlash

The "Diverse Editions" project was set to feature classics like "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Frankenstein", but with the main characters reimagined with darker skin. Everything else about the copies was the same as the original. The chain wanted to promote awareness during Black History Month, but critics say Barnes & Noble should have just showcased original works by black authors instead.
