Suspect in custody in shooting death of Alabama sheriff

18-year-old William Chase Johnson walked up to the shooting scene after an hourslong manhunt. State law enforcement authorities canceled an emergency alert seeking the suspect, saying he was in custody. Lowndes County Sheriff John Williams was killed in the line of duty.
