Tropical Weather Update: Monitoring several areas for possible development in the Atlantic
It looks like tropical activity in the Atlantic will start to pick up over the next week or two, but for now, there aren?t any threats to Texas or even to the United States. Tropical storm Dexter has moved into the cold waters of the north Atlantic Ocean and considered ?extra-tropical?. It is possible that the remnant area of low pressure could hold together long enough to affect places like Ireland and Scotland next week. There are two tropical waves to watch and the farther out Atlantic Ocean. One tropical wave is in the central Atlantic and has a pretty good chance of becoming at least a tropical storm over the next five days or so, but it looks like that one will curve before heading toward the US east coast and won?t be a big concern for Texas. Another tropical wave will roll off the West Coast of Africa over the next day or so, and that one will be watched very closely because models are showing it strengthening and possibly approaching the Caribbean Sea coming up by next week.
