Tropical Weather Forecast: Saharan dust continues in Atlantic, development continues in Pacific

For the ninth day of the 2025 hurricane season, the Atlantic basin remains very quiet. Saharan dust is still covering a big part of the Atlantic limiting tropical activity and the Gulf & Caribbean remain quiet. We are still expecting an above average hurricane season so don't let your guard down. Eastern Pacific remains busy with Tropical Storm Cosme & as of today Hurricane Barbara that formed. Neither system is expected to make landfall across Mexico. But Barbara could dump 2 to 4 inches of rain and bring big waves to parts of SW Mexico.
