Tropical Weather Forecast: Atlantic hurricane season continues

The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season began Sunday. Most of the Atlantic basin is quiet for now with thick Saharan dust moving across the Atlantic Ocean. That helps to limit tropical activity with drier air in place. However, we are monitoring an area of disorganized showers and storms offshore of the Southeastern U.S. There's a low 10% chance that these storms could develop into an area of low pressure that could become tropical over the next 2-7 days as it moves near the Georgia and Carolina coasts. Keep checking back for updates as this possible tropical system evolves. NOAA is predicting 13-19 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes and 3-5 major hurricanes. Now is the time to prepare.
