Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth attempting to defend a highly sensitive group chat regarding an impending military strike on Yemen using the encrypted commercial platform known as Signal. The conversation, which included multiple cabinet members, somehow included a member of the media. No harm, no foul, says the president, citing the mission success. But others, including government transparency expert Bill Aleshire, contend government leaders communicating through unrecorded unhackable black boxes is both dangerous and illegal.
