Houston New Year's Eve Weather Forecast

We will wrap up 2024 on a quiet note as far as the weather is concerned. Look for mostly clear skies for New Year's Eve celebrations tonight with a light northeast breeze and no rain. You may need a jacket though, with temperatures near 50? around midnight. New Year's Day will feature plenty of sunshine and seasonably cool temperatures with highs in the low 60s. Spotty showers return Thursday with only a 10% chance for rain Friday and Saturday. Warm front will bring 70s back to the area Sunday along with a round of thunderstorms ahead of a strong cold front. Temperatures will drop about 20? between Sunday and Monday as much colder air builds in early next week. Indications are that an arctic air mass could impact the area by the middle to end of next week, bringing the coldest air of the season and a major freeze... stay tuned!
