2024 Hurricane season winding down - FOX 26 Tropical Weather Forecast

We are now down to just 4 days remaining in the 2024 Atlantic basin hurricane season. The National hurricane center expects conditions to remain quiet over the next few days. We will likely wrap up the season with 18 named storms, 11 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes. Water temperatures are starting to cool a bit as stronger cold fronts make their way into the Gulf of Mexico. Houston has never been hit by a tropical system this late in the season. But we will continue to watch for the extremely low chance for any type of development in the Western Caribbean.
